I am from a Muslim city called Hama in Syria, which is famous for the adherence of most of its people to Islam. I do not know any of my relatives or their relatives who married a second wife, except for one person who had his own circumstances, working in agriculture in a remote place. The matter is rare and constitutes less than 1 percent. This is much less than the cases of immorality in Western countries, where the man does not bear the responsibility of married life in Islam.
